Hi Tweeters -
In the wake of Meredith Spencer?s message to Tweeters yesterday [thanks Meredith!], I decided to head over to check out the Columbia River along Chelan County today ? turned out to be a great day:

Chelan Falls Park - the 4 Surf Scoters and Long-tailed Duck had been joined by a fifth Surf Scoter ? all present this morning at 8, and again in the early afternoon when I checked on the way south.

Wells Dam - the visitor center is closed, but you can scope from just below the closed visitor center, and also from a good pull-off just north of the visitor center ? both offered good views of?.

RED-THROATED LOON - 1 young one
PACIFIC LOON - 3 or 4! Two were cooperative enough to spend time along the Douglas Co shore as well, for a double-county tick.
RED-NECKED GREBE - 2
SABINE?S GULL - 1 first yr bird, staying resolutely on the Chelan side while I watched.

At Confluence SP in Wenatchee, 3 BONAPARTE?S GULLS were hanging out near the confluence.

Also had American Pipits in Chelan and at Confluence.

Rain managed to only show up for the drives to and from Chelan.

All in all, a good day .
