There was a very dark-backed WESTERN GULL at the Cedar River Mouth today.

Yesterday ( 10.17.16) at the same location there were 3 juv WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS. The white wing patch was obvious as the birds floated on the water and when they stretched their wings. Last Thursday (10.13.16) there were 6 juv SURF SCOTERS at the Cedar River Mouth.
That's a lot of scoters on fresh water for Western Washington.
The Cedar River Mouth is east of and adjacent to the Renton Airport.
