Hi again Tweeters -
A few more reports from the weekend in NE WA.
I called the trip ?Scoter Quest 2016? - but should have added the slightly unwieldy ?and American Tree Sparrow Quest? to the title ? In the end, I saw scoters & Am. Tree Sparrow in all 4 of the NE counties this weekend [Spokane, Pend Oreille, Stevens & Ferry]
Here are the highlights from Sat & Sunday:

Saturday Oct 22:
I began in Pend Oreille County:
AMERICAN TREE SPARROW - 3 along the dike road on the Kalispell Reservation
Northern Shrikes were back in force, at Cordes Rd. and on the Kalispell Rez.
American Pipits at Calispelll Lake

Then over to Stevens Co:
Hafer Rd. south of Chewelah:
AM. TREE SPARROW - at least 3, just east of the pond overlook
SNOW GOOSE - 2 in the pond
Cackling Goose - a few mixed in

Evans Creek CG [north of Kettle Falls]
SURF SCOTERS - 9
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER - 2

Ferry County:
Barnaby Creek Mouth
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE - 2

WESTERN GREBE - north of Kettle Falls bridge - WEGR were tough for me in Ferry Co before this weekend - had them in 3 spots over the 2 days.

Sunday Oct 23:
Ferry Co:
Barnaby Creek Mouth
BONAPARTE?S GULL - a few

Inchelium Ferry Campground
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE - 2 [maybe the ones from Barnaby yesterday?]

Twin Lakes:
SURF SCOTER - 5
also 5 more Western Grebes

Sanpoil River Mouth:
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK - my first of fall
Western Grebe - 7 - ho-hum now!
Red-necked Grebe - 1

Swawilla Basin:
AMERICAN TREE SPARROW - 1 or 2
Golden Eagle - sitting along the cliffs

I made a stop at Bridgeport Bar, and across the river on the OK side, a BONAPARTE?S GULL was working the shoreline

All in all, a good weekend
