I saw and photographed an Orchard Oriole in the blackberries across from
the Mini-Mart this morning. I followed the bird as it flew across the
street and into the fenced area just east of the Mini-Mart. I called
several birders and finally got Jon Houghton and let him know. He reported
that there was an Orchard Oriole east of Warmhouse that he was headed to
see. Jon picked me up and drove there. Doug Schurman, Jordon Gunn and
Sarah Penden were there watching both the Orchard Oriole and the Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher. This was definitely a different Orchard Oriole than the one I
had seen earlier. I will include pictures of both when I do my Ebird
report.

There were at 15-20 birders in the area today. I birded with Doug, Jordon
and Sarah for most of the day. Jordon relocated a Clay-colored Sparrow and
three Tropical Kingbird reported by other birders on Ba'adah Loop
Road earlier. The Houghton's joined us and saw the sparrow as well.

In the afternoon we met Scott Gremel while walking Hoebuck Beach and he
told us about seeing at 5-6 Palm Warbler. As we talked to him we
watched 5-6 Palm Warbler there in the willows. A Northern Shrike scattered
this group. There was a Palm Warbler below the Mini-Mart in the morning
and one at the base of the jetty that I missed. Jordon found one American
Pipit in the meadow across from Hoebuck Resort.

It was a great day of birding at Neah Bay with early morning rain giving
way to mostly dry conditions.
