Subject: [Tweeters] Fir Island Ruff and other shorebirds 9/1

This afternoon I was able to find 19 species of shorebirds on Fir Island
while visiting Jensen Access and the Skagit Game Range. Here are the
totals:

Jensen Access:
Black-bellied Plover - 1
Semipalmated Plover - 8
Whimbrel - 1
Sanderling - 1 juv
Baird's Sandpiper - 2
Least Sandpiper - 500 a few adults but predominantly juvs
Pectoral Sandpiper - 3
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 1 juv
Western Sandpiper - 700

Wylie Slough:
Killdeer - 6
RUFF - 1 juv Reeve
Stilt Sandpiper - 2 juvs
Least Sandpiper - 18
Pectoral Sandpiper - 7
Short-billed Dowitcher - 19
Long-billed Dowitcher - 16
Wilson's Snipe - 6
Spotted Sandpiper - 1
Solitary Sandpiper - 1 cinnamomea
Greater Yellowlegs - 34
Lesser Yellowlegs - 19
