As others have reported in recent weeks, the Utah Wetlands in Discovery Park can be pretty busy. Finally, I found the time to get over there and was amply rewarded. Yesterday morning, standing in a continual drizzle, I was able to observe at least 22 species of passerines in the shrubs and trees surrounding the dwindling water, plus several foraging in the mud and bathing in the residual puddles. At one point, a Lincoln?s Sparrow, Wilson?s Warbler and Spotted Towhee were all bathing at the same time. Here is the Lincoln's:

Most numerous were the Orange-crowned Warblers: one group of 5 birds could be seen in a 1-meter radius. In addition, a Common Raven and a couple Purple Martins flew over the opening. No rarities but very entertaining?I spent at least an hour there on two trips.
