The "blob", the warm ocean water off the northwest and Alaskan coasts seen
the past 2-3 years, was supposed to have dissipated by now as the result of
the El Nino and La Nina last winter and spring. The La Nina never really
developed and the warm water blob looks as large as ever. This will likely
continue to bring bird rarities/pelagic birds/humpbacks into areas where not
