Early Monday I left Tukwila to spend 5 or 6 days east of the cascades. Now safely home again, my trip was cut short due to car problems, but I have a few things to share.

Sabine's Gulls - 6 Monday seen from Potholes State Park (Grant County) boat ramp; dark headed adults and juveniles; unmistakable !!
Black-bellied Plover - 1 also Monday at Potholes near boat ramp

Also on Monday, the only shorebirds I could find at Lind Coulee were 1 Least and 1 Western Sandpiper. Lot of water and limited mud. I did not spend time looking upstream. No shorebirds at all at Perch Point.

At the south beach of Soap Lake (Grant County) early Tuesday:
Sanderling - 1 juv
Least Sandpiper - 6
Western Sandpiper - 2
Long-billed Dowitcher - 3
Pectoral Sandpiper - 4
American Pipits - a dozen or more

Common Tern - 1 on Tuesday over the Columbia River at Vantage, Kittitas County

Swainson's Hawk - 2 Tuesday along Old Vantage Hwy, east of Ellensburg.

Never made it to Washtucna or Sprague lake ............. : - (
