Here's my eBird report of what we saw during Eastside Audubon's monthly bird walk:

Comments:???? Sharon and Stan were joined by 14 others at Eastside Audubon's monthly bird walk at Lake Sammamish State Park. Mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles, 52-57F, 1-3 mph. 42 species for the day, 132 species for the year.
Highlights:
GREBES:? several Pied-billed, Horned and Western
ACCIPITERS:? 1 Sharp-shined, a Cooper's, and 2 more quick fly throughs
VIRGINIA RAIL grunt called spontaneously just beyond the footbridge at the old orchard
SPOTTED SANDPIPER--1 at the mouth of Issaquah Creek
GULLS: California and Glaucous-winged (Sharon saw Ring-billed on 9/21)
BAND-TAILED PIGEON--1 perched, another fly over
WOODPECKERS: not many today....a Downy and several Flickers (Sharon had Pileated and Hairy on 9/21)
SWALLOWS--hundreds were feeding overhead in many big swarms, on the move south.? Both BARN & VIOLET-GREEN.
WRENS:? the PACIFIC WRENS are back.? Several BEWICK'S.
WARBLERS: 1 Orange-crowned, 2 Common Yellowthroat, many Yellow-rumped (Myrtle & Audubon's)
SPARROWS: Savannah, Fox, Song, White-crowned, Dark-eyed Junco (Sharon heard and saw Golden-crowns on 9/21)
Misses: Bushtit, Spotted Towhee, Steller's Jay, Vaux's Swift, Osprey, Red-tailed Hawk, European Starling, Redwinged Blackbird, House Finch, American Goldfinch
Critters: Bunnies, Eastern Gray Squirrels. The next bird walk is Tuesday, OCTOBER 25, 8 am to NOON (note NEW TRIP HOURS, SEPTEMBER through MARCH). No pre-registration, just show up rain or shine. Since this is a state park, a Discover Pass is necessary to park ($10 daily, $30 annual). We meet just inside the main park entrance (NOT the boat launch entrance off of Eastlake Sammamish Parkway), in the large parking lot on the left, and park in the middle of the first and second rows. <br />Submitted from eBird Android 1.3
