Hello, Tweeters,

We have scheduled one more pelagic trip out of Neah Bay on the M/V Windsong for Saturday Oct 8. The trip loads at 8 am, departs by 8:30 am, and returns about 4 pm.

Like our previous trips in August and September, the upcoming trip particularly targets waters from the western mouth of the Strait of Juan de Fuca out to Swiftsure Bank and the northern end of the Juan de Fuca Canyon. Our last two trips have found exceptional feeding concentrations of birds and humpback whales at the western entrance of the Strait and at the southern edges of Swiftsure Bank, including thousands of shearwaters and Sabine?s Gulls, hundreds of phalaropes and Cassin?s Auklets, many skuas and jaegers, along with a couple plunging Brown Boobies. This very active biological zone could turn up most anything, so the more eyes the merrier to find more birds.

If you?d like to go with us on Oct 8, sign up with Denny Van Horn at dennyvanhorn at gmail.com <mailto:dennyvanhorn at gmail.com>. Denny will then send you more information. Cost of the boat trip is $160 cash when loading. The trip is weather-dependent, of course, based on the captain?s decision. If we can?t go boating, our alternative is birding around Neah Bay, always fascinating in the fall.

Please join us for a great trip.
