Hello all,
Like others have reported, I've heard some excellent W.W. Pewee
imitations done by starlings, especially by a bird or birds near
Tualco Loop/Crescent Lake south of Monroe. Last summer I was really
thrown for a loop by a familiar song given by one of the starlings
near my house. It took me a few days to place it, but I eventually
realized it was doing a perfect rendition of a Great Crested
Flycatcher call. I'd love to know where it picked that up.

I've seen several species reported to Tweeters and eBird that are
quite a bit earlier than we'd normally expect them. It's always useful
to hear the criteria used to come to the conclusion since there are
many species that can be easily confused both visually and audibly.
