This morning, I did NOT hear one American Robin--nada, zilch. No songs, no calls, nothing.

I also wasn't hearing chickadees, but then it was 0545, so that wasn't unusual. Within the last three days, "my" chickadee fledglings seem to have left for their new territories. Thursday they were still busily eating at my front feeder, the Black-capped discussing who's turn it was, the Chestnut-backed just coming in and eating. Last night I didn't see any of them.
It's the right season, so I have NO reason to believe that the eclipse had anything to do with either of these observations, but I was aware of how quiet it was on my dog walk without the cheery robin songs.
