Speaking of the Edmonds marina, the public fishing pier was closed last summer for rebuilding.? With no people on the walkway leading out to the pier, the Heermann's gulls took up? perching opposite the walkway on the north breakwater that faces the ferry dock.? This created a new part of the breakwater that looked like snow-capped mountains.

Yesterday several Heermann's gulls were frolicking in the water inside the marina below the west breakwater opposite the fishing pier where they usually perch.
