Hi all -
A couple updates on resources and a contest!

Last year, I opened a contest to ?guess the next five birds for Washington state? ? Well, we added birds rapidly. seven instead of five, in just over year. And we?ve got a winner for the contest! Nine people guessed one of the new birds, and one sage futurologist guessed two of them Check out the article summarizing the results in the latest issue of WOS News at: http://wos.org/documents/wosnws/wosnews170.pdf#page=12 <http://wos.org/documents/wosnws/wosnews170.pdf#page=12>

NEW CONTEST: I?m launching the contest again ? so if you want to try your luck at the next round of this, read the article and learn what?s involved.

Second:
The Washington Bird Records Committee sections of the WOS website have also been updated ? You can see the latest state checklist, review decisions from meetings, and download a copy of all the reviewed reports we?ve considered. When a rare bird shows up, these pages will hopefully be helpful with giving you the context of whether, when and where previous records have occurred.
