Thursday afternoon I finally got some halfway decent photos (after a little post processing) of the ancient murrelet that has been hanging around the Edmonds public pier.? Like the day before, the bird started out just below the south end of the pier.? It then swam and dived its way further south into the low sun until it disappeared from sight.??

Thursday's photos, taken with a bigger telephoto lens than Wednesday's, can be seen by scrolling down page 28 of this thread:http://www.pnwphotos.com/forum/showthread.php?14796-Wildlife-of-Edmonds-WA-2017/page28

The photos were taken around 2:30pm. For those wishing to spot and/or photograph the bird from the pier; I suggest starting your efforts earlier, like around noon, when the lighting is better and hopefully the bird will be closer.??

Thanks to all who answered my call about Wednesday's mystery bird off the pier.? Consensus was that it? was a Pacific loon.? I did not see it Thursday.
