Hi all -
On a trip around Mason Co today, I came across a Golden Eagle at the Skokomish river delta ?
Viewed from SR104, just north of house #2780 at a nice pull off with access to the water?s edge that allows a nice view of the flats ? the Golden Eagle stayed well out on the flats, perching on various snags. Looked like a subadult, most likely a 2nd year, with white tail and some white in the base of the primaries and a nice golden head ? Plenty of Bald Eagles in all plumages around, so it took quite a while to be sure it wasn?t just another confusing young Bald Eagle.
