At about 3:30 PM on Dec 23rd near the intersection of Bow Hill Rd and Chuckanut Dr, next to the Edison-Bow overflow parking lot, I saw a Rough-legged Hawk move in on a ginormous flock of ducks to the north and send them airborne. Within a few minutes a Prairie Falcon appeared at the top of a spruce tree adjacent to the Bow-Edison Restaurant overflow parking lot. It remained there for 10 minutes ( I got some pics) and then it too went after the ducks. A few minutes later a Bald Eagle replaced the Prairie Falcon atop the spruce. This Prairie Falcon could be the same one that has been consistently spotted at Padilla Bay near the intersection of Highway 20 and Bayview-Edison Rd: As the crow - or prairie falcon - flies the Bow-Edison Restaurant and the intersection of Highway 20 and Bayview-Edison Rd are only about 3-4 miles apart. However, if anyone was actually looking at a Prairie Falcon at the usual Padilla Bay spot at 3:30PM - 4:00 PM on Dec 23rd it would suggest there are two Prairie Falcons in the area.
