We had a three falcon day today on the Skagit flats. The Edison Merlin
was perched at the top of a tall pine behind the Edison Grill and a
Kestral was near the intersection of Samish Is. Rd and Scott Rd, but the
bird of the day was a Prairie Falcon perched in the "Eagle Tree" 200 yds
west of the bridge over the Samish River on Bayview-Edison Rd. We
didn't see a Peregrine all day, probably a first for a winter trip up
there. We also saw the Bow Blue Jay and the Black Phoebe was hawking
bugs over the slough between the entrance and the west parking lot at
the Wylie game range.
