My wife and I spent a week in Iceland in early August of 2015 - Awesome!! I
recommend a pamphlet titled "Fuglakort Birdwatcher's Map" ISBN
978-9979-3-3042-4. I bought mine in Iceland, but you can buy over the
Internet. The map identifies good viewing sites and provides excellent
drawings of most species.

We spent our time in the southern half of the island mostly near the coast.
I really enjoyed seeing the large breeding colonies of arctic terns,
kittiwakes, and puffins. I also got chased by a black tailed godwit while
walking down a road - must have been too close to the nest. Eider, many
species of gulls, and others are really neat.

Tweeters,
I would like to learn more about visiting Iceland and the birds found there.
Have any of you had great experiences there?
Any information you can share would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Dan Reiff
