Like so many of us, I am shocked and saddened to learn of Rob?s passing.

Unfortunately, I never got to meet him. But I always looked forward to his posts here. He was very generous with his knowledge of nature. In fact, one of the reasons I really enjoyed his contributions to Tweeters is that his posts were often much broader than the topic of birds/birding.
He engagement with nature came across very vividly in his writing.

I know that he was also an experienced musician. Interestingly, he played at the world-famous (at the time) Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin. For all I know, I saw him perform, as I frequented that place during the period of time Rob was there.

My sincerest condolences to all of Rob?s family and friends. He will be greatly missed by so many, even those of us who never had the privilege of meeting him.
