Walking the beach from the Cottonwood Beach parking area (northernmost public parking area) I found a bird I knew I'd not seen before.

Watched for bit then called for my camera to be delivered to me ASAP by my wonderful lovely napping wife. One of those really rare times I did not have my camera with me. Also called Phil Calise to help with ID.

This wren did not seem to mind us watching it and at times it came within a few feet of us. It was probing under logs and in the washed up piles of eelgrass.

New life bird for me and such a great viewing experience too.

Note: the area between the road and the beach is private property. Anyone accessing the area should do so from the public parking lot.
