After wonderful morning of birding at Ridgefield NWR (including lovely
Rough-legged Hawk) then moved on to Vancouver Lakes, stopping by ponds at
Bernie and Fruit Valley Rds - out of car couple minutes when heard window
smash and ran back to find car vandalized and everything stollen - cameras,
ID, credit cards can be replaced... bird books with years of carefully
penned notes cannot. Cautionary reminder that many of our favorite birding
spots are also just isolated enough to encourage smash & grab thieves.

BTW - Vancouver Police are useless, even if standing there, calling seconds
after the crime - "file your claim online"
