Driving past the Renton Library over the Cedar River today about an hour ago, a very lightly colored heron flew towards the mouth. Predominantly greyish with a light yellow bill - fairly heavy for its small size, more stocky billed than pointy, and definitely not squared off.

So... What the heck was this? I have a stupid guess, and am hoping that someone will instead explain that a bittern or green heron can appear very lightly colored with nearly no rich coloration on it. Otherwise... Night-heron????
