I saw a beautiful Barred Owl at Mountlake Terrace Park this evening. It was sitting low on a branch a short way up the trail from the parking lot. He wasn't too concerned about the noisy people walking by or the occasional loud crack of a firework going off nearby. It was hard to pull myself away.
