Hi, Just wanted to update that the Lesser Goldfinch pair, first noted at my
feeders here on the outskirts of the town of Buckley, continue to feed and
bathe at my feeders and in my pond/waterfall. For a week or so, I rarely
saw the female, and began to wonder what was going on. After about a
solid week of not catching a glimpse of her, I saw her three days ago,
feeder and pond and feeder again. She's hitting the niger feeder on a
regular basis now, several times a day. No sign of fledglings at this
time. I only grab a photo here and there now, since we've been working
hard on our wildlife habitat construction, I dint take the camera out with
me. When babies start showing up, I'll resume photographing them. I've
nicknamed the male Simon Scowl, as he's a bit feisty, always combatting
with the larger American Goldfinch. Sometimes he just sits and waits for
an opening at the feeder.
