At many of the Merlin nest sites in the past, dead tops of trees have been a favorite meeting place for fledglings and good lookout perches for young and adult alike. These fledglings finally found a deadtop to use, now that they are more sure of themselves and don't have to hide among the needled branches quite as much as before.
