Hi -
We stopped on Hesseltine Rd. between Grand Coulee and Wilbur to walk the dog this morning and found some interesting stuff in the cottonwoods and brush along the road northwest of the silos.

Besides the usual suspects (Red-winged and Brewer's Blackbirds, House Wren, Barn Swallow, Gray Partridge, Killdeer, Western Meadowlark, White-crowned Sparrow, and European Starling) there were two brancher Great Horned owlets; a Hermit Thrush; an empid with a longish, narrow, forked tail that (of course) didn't call or sing but was *very* interested in Dusky Flycatcher songs; and a singing White-throated Sparrow.

As a bonus later in the day we saw a Short-eared Owl and a Long-billed Curlew along Highway 2 coming back from Spokane
