The curlew was still there at 10:30 this morning. It was farther from the road. It was necessary to drive down Bowman Hilton Road (Pioneer) in order to see it. The bird was feeding on the freshly mowed lawn while the mower was nearby finishing up the job. Thanks to Will for finding this bird and to Bruce for the directions (below). Very nice!

Will Brooks found a Long-billed Curlew near Alderton on Hwy 162. Take 410 to the Orting exit 162. Turn right, go over the Puyallup River. First road on right is 80th. Go just a few yards pass to a transformer station surrounded by logs. The curlew is in the plowed field across the road. It is favoring the grass edge close to the road. However, they are working the field but when I left it didn't seem to care. Several others have seen it and photos have been taken.
