Hello Tweetsters - The Washington Post just published an interesting
article about a study of songbird migration and climate change. The
researchers looked at the migration of 48 songbirds across the North
American continent (using eBird) to see to what extent their arrivals
were out of synch with spring greenup. It found that nine of the species
were showing a pronounced "mismatch" and were likely to decline:
Blue-winged Warblers, Eastern Wood-Pewees, Great Crested Flycatchers,
Indigo Buntings, Northern Parulas, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Scarlet
Tanagers, Townsend's Warblers and Yellow-billed Cuckoos.
