Hello tweets,
Earlier today I was heading south on High Bridge Rd, kind of near
Monroe. I was keeping my eyes to the sky in hopes of seeing a FOY
Black Swift in the gloomy weather when an odd looking raptor soared
across the road. Fortunately there was a road that headed that
direction and I was able to pick the bird back up as it circled and
confirmed the structural features of a Swainson's Hawk. I lost it
briefly, but regained it again and was able to get a couple photos and
a video with the camera I try to keep in my car for just such
occasions. Eventually the bird continued north out of sight.

This is my second sighting of this species in Snohomish County. My
first was on 5/31/16 a few miles north of this.

Earlier in the morning I had a loon fly high over my house, headed
southeast. Presumably a Common Loon this far inland and at this time
of year.
