Subject: [Tweeters] White-tailed kite at Mima Mounds

Sunday morning at 11:20 a White-tailed kite flew over low from East to West, where the major loop trail branches, briefly perched on the west edge of the area (near the model plane flight area) and then continued west. After leaving I checked the view areas on Marksman St and Bordeaux Road but could not relocate the bird.

Keep on the lookout on the south Thurston County prairies! Also in the SW portion of the mounds preserve, a large number of Western Meadowlarks were in full song and very visible.
