Hi all -
this past weekend I enjoyed a couple days of summer birding in NE WA ? most of the summer birds were back and singing away - great time to wander around ? A few birds of note:

American Redstart - present in Ferry Co along Bridge Creek Rd [just e of SR 21], and in Pend Oreille Co at Calispell Lake
Northern Waterthrush - same two locations as the Am. Redstarts, singing loudly
Veery & Gray Catbird - also at the Bridge Creek Location and elsewhere for Catbird.
Bobolink - back in Pend Oreille Co at the south end of Calispell Lake.
Red-eyed Vireo - heard, but not seen, in Pend Oreille Co at the Redstart/Waterthrush bridge near Calispell Lake.
Clay-colored Sparrow- Hafer Rd. s. of Chewelah in Stevens Co, under the power lines. [no Least Flycatchers responded there [yet?]]
Grasshopper Sparrow - Leahy Cutoff Rd in Douglas & Swawilla Basin Rd. in Ferry Co.
Yellow-breasted Chat, Gray Flycatcher & Lewis?s Woodpecker - not super easy in Ferry Co., but present along the first part of Swawilla Basin
Boreal Chickadee - Ferry Co at the Sherman Pass Campground - they are reported there every summer, but I?ve tried for years and never found any amongst the Mountain Chickadees - nice to stumble on them this time!

Most surprising bird:
Pacific Loon - a striking breeding plumage bird in Ferry Co on Lake Roosevelt from Swawilla Basin [spot where the road comes closest to the water]

Great to have so many of the regulars back ?
