Was inside (early afternoon) when I heard unusual calls near feeder area
outside. A Blue Jay flew in and went to a suet feeder, then stopped at a
tube feeder, and then down to the ground and low in Rhododendrons nearby.
Another stop at the feeder and then into one of our apple trees and out of
sight. I heard a few more calls nearby a couple minutes later, but we had
to leave for the afternoon. Will be on the lookout for it tomorrow.
Incidentally, there was a Blue Jay reported on north Whidbey on the 29th of
October.
