Subject: [Tweeters] New E Bird Category- "Sensitve Species"

Keith,

That is great news! Thanks for sharing it.

I hope it will help to change the behavior of those who have given me and
others flack for following eBird's recommendations for care in reporting
sensitive species. That's long overdue.

Here's the list of species as it stands now:

Next: Let's work toward getting something similar in effect for tagging
eBird sighting locations -- so we can maybe follow a link to a Wiki style
page for sensitive and private and Native sites to learn about access
restrictions, dangers, and other considerations, even having a
lost-and-found component. That could help reduce and solve problems and
reduce the claims of ignorance long used by some listers to excuse
inappropriate and illegal access, which could help us from loosing access
to even more places. There are lots of great possibilities.

Could someone please forward this to BirdYak (a Yakima County listserv on
Yahoo)? I'm still blocked from posting there, in retaliation for my efforts
to call out unethical birding.

Good Birding,
Kevin Lucas
