Tweeters,

If you only want to read posts about rare or unusual birds, delete this
message now....

I visited the Vancouver Lowlands this morning (immediately west of
Vancouver Lake) and was amazed at the number of birds that I saw in one
field:

Cackling Goose: 45,000+
Snow Goose: 1,500+
Sandhill Crane: 400+

Other birds flying over included:

Tundra Swan: 6 (my first of the Fall)
American White Pelican: 433 (one huge flock)
Northern Pintail: 100
American Pipit: 45
American Goldfinch: 18
American Robin: 20
Red-shouldered Hawk: 1
Peregrine: 1 (ripped through the Cackling Goose flock and created basic
mayhem)
duck sp: 175
Eurasian Collared Dove: 45

All of this was seen from one spot so it turned into a 45 minute big sit.

Keep your eyes and ears skyward.

Jim
