Hello Tweets,
The Snohomish river technically never hit flood stage this weekend,
but it got high enough to flood the field across the river from me and
this afternoon there were a couple hundred gulls feeding around the
edges when I got home from work. The vast majority were Mew Gulls, but
after quite a bit of scanning I found a Franklin's Gull among them. I
suspect that the gulls around here move up and down the Snohomish
river, so it's possible this is the same bird that Steve Pink had in
Everett over the weekend. I had a Franklin's Gull in this same flooded
field last year on November 17th. The field is unfortunately not
visible from the road, but keep your eyes out for gull flocks in the
area and maybe it'll turn up.
