Hey tweets, today was the last Sunday of the month, so two teams of birders censused all the birds at the Fill today. I haven't received all the reports yet, but I already know it was a spectacular day, due to the appearance of:

? AMERICAN TREE SPARROW at the Youth Farm (also called UW Farm; I haven't seen one of these birds at the Fill since 2009)
? PACIFIC LOON - flyover. This was a First of the Fill bird, one I never never expected to see here, no matter how long I lived or how many days I spent at my favorite place on Earth.

Also notable:
Red-breasted Merganser/Hooded Merganser/Common Merganser - all out on the lake (Hooded also on Main Pond and in Water Lily Cove)
Red-necked Grebe (rare for Fill) and a Western Grebe, both out on the lake
Ruddy Duck, female, on the lake off East Point
Eurasian Wigeon, on the lake
Storm Wigeon, on the lake
Wilson's Snipe - 12 altogether, either flying around or foraging on one of the mud islands out on the lake
Long-billed Dowitcher - on the mud island with the snipe
Killdeer - 23, on the mud island
Sharp-shinned Hawk - near the picnic tables
Eurasian Collared-Dove - flyover (these doves are getting to be more common every year)

We saw 70+ species of birds today. - Connie, Seattle
