Hi Ted,
I'm glad Bruce beat me to this one, because I was headed down the
wrong path here. Western Screech-Owls give a very similar call to
this, but Pygmy-Owl toot at the end confused the heck out of me and I
was almost wondering about two different birds. Bruce's recording
really clears things up. For reference, here is the Western Screech
version that I recorded in my backyard this summer.
