After more golden ploving minds than mine looked at the photos there was consensus that the Pierce County golden plover was "American as apple pie." I learned a lot about primary projections, which has nothing to do with elections, even in this All-American city of Tacoma (thanks to Dennis Paulson and Neko Case - probably the first time they've been mentioned in the same breath).
