Subject: [Tweeters] Swallow-tailed Gull: A Word About the Edmonds Marina

Probably using Google Earth and other map apps, birders and photographers are finding their way to the marina?s fuel dock to try for better views of the Swallow-tailed Gull. Although the fuel dock is ungated, it is a working dock. Short-term tenants are berthed at that dock and boats come in to purchase marine fuel. The occasional visitor out on the fuel dock is usually left alone. However, a continuing cluster of people could get in the way of marina operations and bring down the wrath of the harbor master. If you decide to go out there, at least seek permission from an employee so that they know what is going on or ask at the marina office. You can scope the south breakwater from the plaza level, just behind Anthony?s restaurant. At that location you will not be in the way of any marina operations. Good scope views continue to be available from the south end of the public pier. Please help us preserve a good reputation for birders in Edmonds. Thanks.
