Hi,

Just as I was leaving the Edmonds Fishing Pier today, an irate fisherman showed up. He hadn't started fishing yet but seemed to be in a bad mood from having to yield space to non-fishing activities yesterday. I guess he was expecting birders to be gone today. There were only about 15 birders there at the time, all congregated in the last twenty feet of the pier, and there was plenty of space everywhere else.

>From what I saw on Thursday, the salmon fishing seems to be pretty good right now, so expect crowds of people fishing this weekend (when the pier is open). They're using lures, which means lots of casting. Keep an eye out if you go. Most everyone seems polite, and if you're not in the way, things should be fine, but also don't be surprised if a small minority resent your presence.

For what it's worth, the view from land near the fuel dock was pretty good today.
