Subject: [Tweeters] Access to Mt. Rainier/Sunrise

Tweeters,

The official word from the Mount Rainier National Park website (updated yesterday) is that Highway 410, Highway 123, and the Sunrise area are OPEN to visitors. All areas east of 410, and 410 itself east of Cayuse Pass, are still closed because of the Norse Peak fire. The National Park website is here: https://www.nps.gov/mora/learn/news/fire.htm .

The situation could change any day, so please check the website before trying to visit the east side of the park.

re Mt. Rainier -- the White River entrance notice is still up, indicating (but not clearly stating!) that both the camp ground & Sunrise are closed -- instead they ask visitors to those locations to depart -- a very strange notice, and one that's been up for a week.

Friends, I just checked the Mt Rainier NP web site. 410 is closed east of the Park but has reopened to the junction with 123. So Sunrise is accessible again.
