Subject: [Tweeters] White-tailed kites (yes, plural) still at South Lewis County Airport

Yesterday my husband and I went down to Toledo to see if we could spot the
white-tailed kite. We were pleasantly surprised to find two. One was mostly
perched in the top of one of trees dividing the airport from the
neighboring house; the other gave quite a show, because it was actively
hunting, slowly flying about 6 feet above the ground and making multiple
grabs at prey. We saw both at the same time, so there is no doubt that two
were there. We stayed about 15 minutes, until the hunter disappeared.

We couldn't spot a nest, but let's hope they've settled in for the summer!
