Hello Tweeters,

My sister and I watched the winter plumage Steller's Eider for 45 minutes yesterday at "The Cove" at the south end of Seaside, Oregon, from 1:45pm until 2:30pm. It was near the shore, by itself, at the south end of The Cove. We walked the cobble beach from the parking lot to get the necessary views. At 2:30pm it was headed around the point. I'm guessing that it soon would have been out of sight beyond the point where there is no access and no viewing opportunities. We were very fortunate that it had been in the accessible part of The Cove when we arrived.
