I received a call from one of Roger Hunt's Weyerhaeuser boating friends saying that Roger passed away April 15, 2018. Seemingly in good health, but didn't survive a massive heart attack, while working on his boat. The Federal Way Mirror reports:

Roger didn't become a birder until he retired in 2009, but became very active, attending birding classes and taking field trips to eastern Washington with Ruth, Shep and Ken.

I will miss Roger, birder and friend.
