Dear Tweets,

we had a nice summers day at the Refuge with continued young being fed in
the Orchard and Riparian Forest, and good numbers of migrating swallows.
Highlights included three falcons, PEREGRINE, MERLIN and AMERICAN KESTREL.
8-10 BANK SWALLOWS mixed in with 5 other species, we had a 7 swallow
species day. And both VIRGINIA RAIL at the Visitor Center Pond Overlook
and SORA in the fresh water marsh on the inside of the dike across from the
Nisqually Estuary Boardwalk Trail. A second cycle non breeding BONAPARTE'S
GULL remains in the area at the beginning of the board walk.

We had 69 species for the day, with 146 species for the year on the walk.

Mammals seen included Eastern Cotton-tailed Rabbit, Columbian Black-tailed
Deer, Coyote and Harbor Seal.

Here is our eBird report.

Until next week when Phil returns to lead the walk, happy birding!
