Subject: [Tweeters] [ADMINISTRATIVE] New site for older Tweeters archives

To answer Kelly's question, the Tweeter's archive a made available on UW's
site currently takes up just under 200 megabytes in text form. Not exactly
big data, but since UW has graciously hosted the listserv (and archive) for
almost a quarter decade I certainly won't complain.

Thanks very much to WOS for hosting the archive. The 1994-1999 archives
were not available previously on the UW site so that is an especially nice
touch. Some may question the usefulness of 20+ year old bird reports, but
I've learned a ton from reading old tweeters message. It's also nice to see
a highly featured search function (at the very top, I missed it the first
time I looked). The UW's search function was highly temperamental and would
stop working for days at a time.

I just used the search feature to look for reports from the place I'm
birding tomorrow and found the Dan Victor encountered 4 bears there 20
years ago. Not sure if I'm hoping for a repeat or not...
