Thursday afternoon I attempted to photograph a shorebird walking in Willow Creek. I could not take photos good enough to ID the bird due to the heat waves.  The bird was noticeably larger than the western sandpipers that were out on the mudflats.

I returned Friday evening shortly before sunset and was able to photograph what I believe was the same bird.  I am calling it a greater yellowlegs due to its yellow legs and slightly upturned bill.  I hope some of you will attempt to ID the bird from my photos at the bottom of page 12 and get back to me via e-mail.
