Regarding the issue with getting Eurasian names for some species (Example:
Arctic Skua, Great Northern Diver, Gray Plover, etc.) this is a known bug
in the eBird app. Apparently the taxonomy update today is supposed to fix
it, but you can manually resolve the issue by changing the language
language of the apps in settings and then changing it back to "English
(United States)". This should get you back your familiar species names.
