Dear Glenn, thanks for letting us know, even though the news is sad. The UBNA Ospreys have many fans (myself among them), ever since the parents began using the nest pole installed by the UW. In the past, these Ospreys have successfully raised two or three chicks each year. I believe one of their offspring, along with a mate, built its own first nest on one of the light poles at the soccer field along 45th this spring. Though their nest did not succeed either, I believe this young pair - and the older UBNA pair too - will try again next year. Here's hoping they will succeed. - Connie, Seattle
